DigiLocker Registration Requirement

As per the official guidelines, all applicants for GATE 2027 must register through DigiLocker. This is essential for fetching necessary details such as name, date of birth, contact information, and identity document number. Candidates are encouraged to verify their DigiLocker accounts prior to application submission.


Alternatively, candidates can register without a verified DigiLocker account by selecting a default identity proof during the application process. However, these applications will undergo scrutiny for required documents after the application period ends.


Required Documents for GATE 2027 Application

Applicants should prepare the following documents before starting their application:



  • A live photograph taken during registration, which can be captured using a computer with a webcam or a mobile device with a front-facing camera of at least 5 megapixels.


  • The photograph must be well-lit and of high quality, meeting the specified standards.


  • A high-resolution image of the candidate's signature that adheres to the required guidelines.


  • The original identity proof verified through DigiLocker must be brought to the examination center.


  • SC/ST certificates should be uploaded in PDF format to DigiLocker, named 'CATEGORY.pdf' within a folder titled 'GATE2027'.


  • A scanned copy of the UDID or disability certificate must also be uploaded, named 'UDID_CERT.pdf' or 'PWD_CERT.pdf'.


  • Any applicable certificates for compensatory time or scribe assistance should be prepared as well.
