Deadline Extension for NEET UG 2026 Fee Refunds

In a significant move for NEET UG 2026 candidates, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced an extension for submitting bank details for fee refunds until June 22, 2026. Students can log into the NEET portal to update their banking information.

This extension comes as a relief to countless NEET UG students nationwide. The NTA has provided another chance for candidates to submit their bank account details for fee refunds, which can now be done until June 22, 2026, instead of the previous deadline of May 27.

The NTA's decision aims to assist students who faced challenges in updating their bank information on time. The agency has noted that many candidates have yet to complete the refund process, prompting this deadline extension.

Initiation of Refund Process After NEET Exam

The NEET UG 2026 examination took place on May 3. Following the exam, the NTA initiated a fee refund process due to various procedural issues. Students were asked to provide their bank details for direct transfers of the refund amount. Notices regarding this process were issued on May 12 and May 22, 2026, with the portal open for submissions from May 22 to May 27.

1.3 Million Students Have Submitted Their Details

As reported by the NTA, around 1.3 million candidates have successfully updated their bank account information. However, a considerable number of students have not yet completed this process. The agency indicated that some students received the information late, while others encountered technical difficulties. To prevent any loss for these students, the deadline has been extended by nearly a month.

Final Submission is Irrevocable

The NTA has issued a crucial warning: once bank account details are submitted, no modifications will be allowed. If students enter incorrect information, such as an account number or IFSC code, they will not have the chance to correct these errors later. Therefore, it is essential for students to double-check all information before submission.

Portal Open Until June 22

The NTA has confirmed that the portal for submitting bank account details will remain accessible until 11:50 PM on June 22, 2026. The agency encourages all eligible students to complete this process promptly to avoid any complications in receiving their refunds.

Steps to Submit Bank Details

Candidates should visit the NEET UG 2026 registration portal and log in. After logging in, they must click on the ‘Refund’ link and enter their bank account details. To ensure accuracy, students can also upload a cancelled cheque.
